A country with a region specifically called The Coffee Axis is sure to have some of the best coffee shops in the globe. That, together with free high-speed WiFi, is a recipe for the ultimate remote working spot. We’ve identified seven cafes in Bogota that are impeccable, the perfect spots to both freelance your day away and enjoy a tasty coffee.

1. Juan Valdez Orígenes

Cafe, South American, Pastries

This extra-large branch of the popular Juan Valdez coffee chain is located in the Zona G neighborhood of Chapinero in Bogotá. While Juan Valdez Cafes are scattered throughout the city, the Orígenes branch is hugely popular with those in search of a cafe with WiFi. Set over three stories, Orígenes is easily spacious enough to accommodate demand, and the internet connection is fast and strong. Throw in great coffee, a pleasant roof terrace, and food options, and Orígenes ticks all the boxes for freelancers in Bogotá.

2. Amor Perfecto

Cafe, South American

Located in Chapinero, Amor Perfecto is a coffeehouse that contains a coffee laboratory, which can be seen from the shop. It’s a pioneer that brings regional coffee from the farms into the city, offers a range of beans from a variety of regions in Colombia that vary in taste, and imports different preparation techniques. Amor Perfecto also produces its own coffee, which is available to purchase from the shop. Most tables have power sockets and the music is calm and low, which makes it ideal for concentrating and being productive.

3. Les Amis Bizcocheria

Cafe, Argentina

Les Amis is a little coffee shop with free WiFi and a vintage mood, and it serves Argentinean pastries and snacks. Located on the second floor of a small house in Quinta Camacho, Les Amis differentiates itself from the other shops by its relaxed atmosphere, attentive and polite service, and very quiet spaces. You can hardly hear a sound other than the background music and the time buzzer of the oven, which reminds you to try out their savory croissants, chocolate cakes, and “alfajores.”

5. Cafe Cultor

The flagship branch of the popular independent cafe chain in the hip neighborhood of Quinta Camacho is perhaps the best of the three Cafe Cultors in Bogota. It’s certainly the best for working, with a good WiFi signal and comfortable chairs (plus a conference room available for meetings). With some of the best baristas in the city, beautiful art on the walls, and a peaceful patio area complete with a water fountain and chirping birds, Cafe Cultor is like a little oasis of peace and tranquillity in the heart of Bogota.

6. Brot Bakery & Cafe

Cafe, German

Brot Bakery & Cafe is located in a typical English-style house only two blocks from the Financial District of Bogota. It is an extremely popular brunch spot for well-to-do Bogotanos, as well as a favorite lunch option for bankers and people who work in the offices nearby. A Parisian-style cafe with a twist, at Brot Bakery & Café you’ll find croissants and coffee next to huevos rancheros. But whatever you order, it will be delicious. This café is surprisingly cheap, so it’s perfect for a whole comfortable day of work next to the old house fireplace.

7. Café Quindío

Cafe, South American

Café Quindío is a coffee-roasting company that works with 100% Colombian products. It specializes in making great coffee, but also promotes respect for the process and the environment. They have several coffee shops around the country, including one in the neighborhood of Usaquen in Bogota. This one, in particular, is designed specifically for freelancers as it has wide tables with many outlets and free WiFi. If you fall in love with the products, you can always buy your own bag of high-quality coffee at the counter, brought straight from the heart of Colombia.
