Buenos Aires is a city that is always on the go, but for a long time it was hard to find anything to grab if you were on the move that wasn’t an empanada or a slice of pizza. Luckily there has been a boom in tasty and quick food that will fill the hole in your tummy without taking forever, as things are wont to do in Argentina. Here are the best eats for those in a rush in the Argentine capital.

1. Sheikob's Bagels

Bakery, Coffee Shop, American

The best bagel on the Buenos Aires beat can be found at Sheikob’s Bagels in Palermo Soho. This happening spot has become something of a favourite among locals, expats and foreigners alike, who come for the relaxed atmosphere, consistently good music on the stereo and, of course, the badass bagels. Go for the classic salmon and cream cheese, or build your own bagel from a list of tasty homemade ingredients. You also get a 10% discount if you tinkle a tune on the in-house piano. Buena onda and bagels, what more could you ask for?!

2. Nola

Snack Bar, North American

Nola is a hotspot for all things fried chicken related. Starting off as a closed door restaurant a few years ago, this cheap, tasty and quick informal eatery is packed to the brim nightly with punters who come for their chicken burger, gumbo or craft beer fix. Get a table outside for the real Nola experience, but make sure you keep an ear out for your name being called from the kitchen.

3. Chori

Diner, South American

The humble choripan has been given a gourmet overhaul in this Palermo Soho chori shack. Not only are the sausages inventive and tasty, but they fly out from the kitchen in a matter of minutes, satiating whatever hunger you have built up over the course of the day. They also serve some mean drinks, so go in the evening for a quick bite.

5. Vico Wine Bar

Wine Seller, Tapas

More of a wine bar than food joint, it is also handy to know where you can go to get a copa quickly. Vico’s card system means that you can fill your own glass at will, and guests have a selection of over 140 wines on tap to choose from. The food is also really good, but if you’re in a hurry, just wine and dash.

6. Burger Joint

Diner, Fast Food

The original fast casual dining experience in Buenos Aires has go to be Burger Joint. Since its inception, countless burger restaurants have sprung up all over the city, but Burger Joint still takes the crown for being the best. Order one of their tasty patties from the bar, take your seat and wait for your name to be called. Gobble the burger and you’ll be out of there in a flash.

7. Chicken Bros

Bar, American

American diner kings Chicken Bros have it down when it comes to tasty offerings straight from the US of A. Chicken wings, burgers, brunch, they have it all, and you won’t have to hang around for long to get your fill of all things stateside.
