We combed the beautiful Cotswolds streets to find the best spots to visit for coffee and a spot of lunch. Here are 7 must-visit cafes that you need to schedule into your itinerary after a long walk through the countryside.

With a heritage going as far back as 1890, Huffkins started delivering baked goods to the community by donkey back in the day. Nowadays, however, the mouth-watering selection of freshly-made cakes and other amazing baked goods can be purchased over the counter and enjoyed in the surroundings of the grade-II listed building. Particularly good are the roasted artisan coffees and hand-blended loose-leaf teas.

2. Cotswolds’ Artisan Coffee

If you’re a coffee buff and fancy testing out your knowledge of bean origins, then you’ve come to the right place. Manned by a team of clued-up baristas, expect trendy flat whites, smooth bean blends and tasty baked goods in quirky surroundings. With customer service at their forefront, the team are ready to answer any questions you may have about the origins of their coffee.

With famous fans ranging from Liz Hurley to Kate Moss, Daylesford Organic has earned itself a bit of a prestigious reputation. Although technically an organic farm, the attached café serves up an array of delicious treats, all locally sourced of course. This is the perfect place to visit with family and friends after a long walk in the Cotswolds.

5. Lucy's Tearoom

Cafe, Tea Room, British, Coffee

Nestled in the highest market town in the Cotswolds, Stow-On-The-Wold, Lucy’s Tearoom is a family-run business known for its warm atmosphere and tasty treats. With a homemade menu offering all of the classics from cream tea, sandwiches, scones, jams and cakes aplenty, you will leave totally satisfied. Even the honey is made on the family farm! Combine your love of literature and hot beverages at this Cotswolds haven. With only a handful of bookshops still surviving in the digital age, this location seems almost nostalgic. Sip away on a delicious coffee while being surrounded by the great writers of all times, and chat away to the friendly clientele who are bound to have paid a visit for the same reasons as yourself. There are plenty of cakes on offer too, from classic Vicky sponge to a range of gluten-free options. There is something here for everyone.

7. Lavendar Bakehouse and Coffee Shop

Cafe, Coffee Shop, British, Coffee

Located in the heart of the Frome Valley area of the Cotswolds, this rustic venue boasts delicious homemade platters in a traditional, homely setting. From the mural on the back wall to the sparkling chandeliers, the quirky décor sets an atmospheric scene for a spot of lunch. The main attraction though has to be the cream tea, presented on a tiered cake stand with matching china. Upstairs, you can find unique, one-of-a-kind items in their gift shop, The Loft.
