New York’s Hamptons have come to symbolize wealth and luxury. Ask any local foodie, however, and they’ll tell you that the Hamptons can get down and dirty like any place else. Of course, here, the dirt refers to the local and regional farms that provide many of the area’s eateries with fresh ingredients. For homegrown food that only tastes fancy, take a seat at the best farm-to-table restaurants in the Hamptons.

1. Hamptons Aristocrat

Restaurant, Contemporary, Healthy, American

Of course, the Hamptons is home to a (wildly popular) catering company specializing in something called “farm-to-fete” cuisine. Thanks to Hamptons Aristocrat, you can enjoy organic and “locally inspired” dishes, including Browder’s Birds chicken tacos and local monkfish with arugula, delivered straight to your table (no one needs to know it isn’t homemade). Or make any day feel festive by visiting Hamptons Aristocrat’s newly opened farm-to-table brunch eatery in Bridgehampton.

2. Almond

Restaurant, French

Flatiron’s favorite farm-to-table restaurant has secured a second home in Bridgehampton (the sign one has “made it” in New York City). Almond’s Hamptons outpost specializes in hyper-local fare, including fresh-caught seafood, Amagansett wheat berry and Sagaponack broccoli soup, and roasted Long Island Cheese Pumpkin.

3. Jean-Georges at Topping Rose House

Hotel Restaurant, American

Topping Rose House’s one-acre farm provides many of the ingredients used at its restaurant, Jean-Georges. In addition to sourcing from its own backyard, Topping Rose House also works with nearby farmers and fishers to create dishes like butternut squash soup with mushrooms and chives, seasonal vegetable and grain plates, and crispy New York State duck breast. The hotel’s restaurant’s wine list, which showcases wines from local Long Island vineyards, is worth toasting to.

5. Tacombi

Restaurant, Mexican, American

A catch for fans of fresh seafood, Tacombi draws inspiration from the Mexican coast and cooks with fish from the waters off of New York. Homemade Vista Hermosa corn tortillas make for ideal vessels for Tikin Xic-style rockfish, fresh-caught shrimp, and more quality farm-, or sea-, to-table cuisine.

6. Estia’s Little Kitchen

Restaurant, Mexican, American

Sag Harbor diners don’t have to look far to find the source of their meal at Estia’s Little Kitchen. The restaurant’s fare is harvested from its on-site kitchen garden, as well as from trusted farmers and friends. The result? Southwestern-inspired fish tacos, salads, and bowls that somehow taste like pure New York.

7. Nick & Toni’s

Restaurant, American

The team at Nick & Toni’s harvests the restaurant’s one-acre organic garden daily to make up around 30% of its produce. Homegrown asparagus and honey appear in dishes such as Berkshire pork chops with asparagus and walnut cream and artisanal cheese plates with housemade jam and honey. Get to know the neighbors via this community champion’s website, which proudly displays Nick & Toni’s “Friends and Suppliers.”
