There isn’t an easier way to learn some useful Danish phrases and words before travelling to Denmark than by watching native vloggers’ inspiring and funny videos on YouTube. Not only will you practice your skills in Danish, but you’ll also learn some useful information about the local culture.

Kelly Louise Killjoy

Kelly Louise Killjoy’s videos offers an insight into Danish society with a fun and sarcastic way not many Danes are willing to do or even stand watching. So, her only video teaching the Danish language couldn’t be anything else other than ‘Danish swear words’. Swearing in Danish might not be your first priority if you’re a beginner but it would be useful to add some slang phrases in your vocabulary for everyday casual talks. Kelly Louise Killjoy may not be the teacher your parents would like you to have but it’s always good to have someone willing to teach you some useful words language schools will never do.

Learn Danish with Thomas

With videos full of verbs, phrases, adverbs, conjunctions and more or less everything that is part of a language, Thomas aims to teach his viewers how to speak in Danish. Some of his videos consist only of written texts while in others Thomas himself talks about different topics in Danish while English subtitles appear at the bottom of the page.

How to Speak Danish with Nadja Bender

Watch the Danish supermodel Nadja Bender introducing you to some of the most common Danish phrases with her own unique style. ‘How to speak Danish with Nadja Bender’ is a short and cute video that’s worth watching mostly because it’s funny and aesthetically beautiful. You’re not going to learn grammar or extended vocabulary but it will be quite helpful if you’re visiting Denmark for only a couple of days, as you’re definitely going to use some of the phrases Bender presents.

Stine Mo Danske Favoritter

Learn some beauty tips and at the same time practice your skills in Danish with Stine Mo’s Danske Favoritter video. The fashion blogger offers fashion, make-up and beauty advice through her personal website and YouTube channel. Even though all of her texts and videos are in English, Stine Mo decided to publish one in her mother tongue for natives. But intermediate level Danish speakers will also be able to recognise several words and phrases that will help them understand what Stine Mo is talking about.

Easy Danish

On their ‘Easy Danish’ videos, Magnus and Johan hit the streets in Aarhus and ask locals to share their favourite typical Danish phrases or start a conversation in Danish about everyday things. The best part about these videos is that both Danish and English subtitles appear on the screen, and so viewers don’t have to struggle with understanding.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
