Les Super Filles du Tram is at times slightly cramped, but the quirky decoration and great food make up for it. Diners with dietary requirements will be satisfied as apart from the usual bacon cheeseburgers, there are also delicious veggie burgers, chicken burgers, fish burgers and even a foie gras burger.

Cool Bun serves fancy burgers made with local, organic ingredients. They have the usual burgers as well as burgers with lobster, avocado, jalapeños, guacamole and falafel. Their extensive drinks menu, with around 50 beers and wines, cocktails and aperitifs. The salads, desserts and starters are also excellent.

Houtsiplou is an excellent place to go for a juicy, tasty burger. Beef, cheddar, BBQ sauce, smoked mozzarella, gorgonzola cheese, halloumi, breaded fish and ground duck breast are a few of the ingredients they use for their yummy burgers. There are also other meat and fish-based main courses, salads, and sandwiches available.

5. Hemgie’s

Located in the Ixelles area on the outskirts of Brussel’s city center, but still easily reachable for tourists staying in the old town, Hemgie’s is an excellent burger joint. They have an innovative approach to burgers, focusing on fusion and representation of different types of cuisine. Try the Italian-inspired Mona Lisa burger, served with mozzarella di buffala, pesto, balsamico and sun dried tomatoes, for something truly special. They have a great wine list and great beer from local breweries.

6. Hotel Conrad’s Bar Loui

More expensive than most burger places, Bar Loui serves a delicious gourmet burger. This classy locale, situated in the Hotel Conrad, is frequented by businessmen and politicians, and serves great food – not just burgers. Chef, Frédéric Gonzalez uses a secret recipe sauce for the burgers served here. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is great, as is expected at a hotel of this type.
