Prenzlauer Berg makes up a section of the Pankow district in northeast Berlin. It is one of the most changed districts of former East Berlin after the reunification of Germany, having experienced rapid gentrification during the last few decades. Its now home to a large number of shops, cafés and restaurants and is a great location to enjoy a relaxed breakfast or brunch. Here’s our favorites.

Cafe Anna Blume

Cafe Anna Blume is a charming corner decorated with flowers in Prenzlauer Berg. It has a nice view of the neighborhood and offers delicious breakfast and a delightful Sunday brunch. Some of the delicious breakfast options include croissants and a variety of egg dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The Sunday brunch includes a selection of breads, jams, spreads and cheeses. Try the Anna Blume Special for two or four people.

Pasternak

This famous Russian restaurant serves fresh food in a nice surroundings and a quiet terrace. Pasternak offers interesting daily breakfast options based on the Russian culinary tradition, from sirniki (Russian curd pancakes with jam, fruit and sour cream) to Iolochos (organic scrambled eggs with Russian sausage, fried potatoes,salted cucumbers, butter and bread). Plus there’s a varied Sunday brunch buffet from 9 am to 3 pm.

Pappa e Ciccia

This certified organic Sicilian restaurant Pappa e Ciccia has a strong reputation, with nice simple furniture, lovely staff and great tastes. You have to make a reservation to enjoy its weekend brunch. But its worth the effort, with beautifully dressed vegetables, organic eggs with fresh herbs and bacon, as well as olives and bruschetta.

Distrikt Coffee is highly regarded for its exceptional brunch offerings and excellent coffee. Visitors praise the trendy atmosphere and the variety of delicious dishes on the menu.
