1. Grand Coffee

Situated in the heart of Łódź’s main shopping street, Ulica Piotrkowska, this classy establishment prides itself on superb coffee, comfortable seating and a relaxing atmosphere. The coffee menu is vast, with over 20 varieties ranging from a simple Americano to a frothy frappé or a vanilla mocha or a caramel macchiato. The venue has a high ceiling and a traditional aesthetic. 3. Dzień Dobry Caffe

Dzień Dobry Caffe translates to ‘Good Day Coffee’ in Polish and is a popular, cosy option in central Łódź. The coffee menu includes a typical selection of fresh coffees from frothy lattes to creamy cappuccinos. Healthy snacks are served throughout the day as well. Breakfast choices include lots of fresh fruit salads and oatmeal options. Dzień Dobry also delivers a tantalising range of cakes, pastries and desserts bound to be irresistible for customers with a sweet tooth. Verte is also licensed and serves international wines and craft beers. The food menu includes a mix of healthy dishes, such as fruit salads and vegetable quiches, but it also boasts tasty sweet treats like banoffee pie.
6. Hort Café

Hort Café specialises in a range of international teas and coffees. Experienced baristas serve up rich coffees, such as the ‘Picasso’ (with banana, caramel and whipped cream) and a fine selection of spiced teas, green teas and black teas. When it comes to food, it’s all about delicious desserts that look great on Instagram. Try the artistic bowls of ice cream, which include the intriguing ‘Koala’ (which resembles a koala bear) and the ‘Pinocchio’ (which even has a long nose). Hort is actually a chain of cafés in both Łódź and in Rzgów, but the most central venue is on Ulica Piotrkowska.
7. Przędza

In central Łódź, enjoy a coffee or a tea at Przędza, which is a Polish slang word for ‘yarn’. You should try their quirky ‘Tonic Espresso’, which is basically a shot of espresso coffee served in a glass floating on top of tonic water. Sweet cookies, blueberry tarts and slices of pecan pie all make up an ever-changing range of delicious desserts. The staff are bi-lingual (Polish and English), and the venue is also licensed to serve alcohol, which attracts a post-work crowd on Friday evenings.
