Morning: Have batagor as breakfast

Batagor is Bandung’s specialty food, whose name is abbreviated from ‘bakso tahu goreng’ (fried meatball and tofu). The fish meat and tofu ingredients are prepared to form dumplings, that will later will be served with overflowing, delectable peanut sauce. You can find batagor virtually everywhere in Bandung, from street food vendors to fancy restaurants, but among the most popular places to enjoy this traditional food is Batagor Kingsley, Batagor Riri, or Batagor Burangrang.

Mid-morning: Stroll the streets of Braga

The neighbourhood around Braga Street stands as testament to the city’s past, as the “Paris van Java”, or “Paris of Java”, as coined by the Dutch during colonial era. The streets are lined with charming old buildings with European architecture that used to be elegant shops, boutiques, and more. Now, if you walk around this neighborhood you’ll find street artists selling paintings, hip cafés, and heritage restaurants, like the all-time favorite Braga Permai, which is also an excellent spot for lunch.

Afternoon: Learn and be entertained by traditional music and performances

Saung Angklung Udjo or Udjo’s House of Angklung is a must-visit destination for culture enthusiasts. In this workshop, tourists can learn not only about angklung, the traditional Sundanese musical instrument, but also how to play it. In the evening, the place holds a magnificent concert and traditional performances that will amuse anyone of any age.

Evening: Glamping at Dusun Bambu

If you’re feeling adventurous, one of the best ways to immerse in Bandung’s glorious nature is by getting yourself a glamping tent, equipped with barbecue and modern amenities. Day 2

Morning: Pick strawberries in a farm

Thanks to its cool climate, Bandung used to be one of the biggest vegetable producers during colonial era. Even now, farms remain one of the most-sought attractions in Bandung, especially ones that yield strawberries (because who doesn’t love this fresh red fruit?). In these farms, you can experience picking your own strawberries or simply order some refreshing and healthy strawberry juice.

Noon: Lunch and art

Culinary and contemporary art: the two things that are thriving and therefore must-see in Bandung. Luckily for tourists, food and art is often served in a single place. Lawangwangi, for example, doubles as restaurant and art gallery (also a sightseeing spot, due to its majestic jungle-hill view). After lunch, you can also stop by Selasar Soenaryo for a cup of excellent coffee and more contemporary art.

Afternoon: Shop at ‘Jeans Street’ and other fashion districts

Let’s face it: chances are, anyone who travels to Bandung will leave with at least one or two shopping bags in hand—in most cases more than that. If you’re planning a shopping spree in Bandung, be sure to do it right. Bandung has several fashion districts that are lined with shops and outlets, among the best ones are Cihampelas Street (also known as the ‘Jeans Street’), Cibaduyut, and Riau Street.

Evening: Dinner with a view

Conclude your delightful visit to Bandung with a sweeping view of the city while feasting on great food. Many restaurants in Bandung try to incorporate great views into the dining experience they offer customers. The Valley, Cocorico, and Cafe D’Pakar all have majestic scenery in their menu. If you want to linger in the city even longer, head to Rumah Miring Bar for drinks, also with magnificent views of the city lights below.
