Asia, Peru has become the most popular beach vacation spot with Lima’s wealthiest. Massive development projects and investment have led to a multi-million dollar mall, while new restaurants have opened owned by Peru’s best and most popular chefs. Though the new infrastructure and million-dollar homes get most of the attention, it was the beautiful stretch of coastline that first brought people to the area. Here’s your need-to-know guide to the beaches in Asia, Peru.

Private vs. public beaches

When Asia became a hotspot for big real estate and hotel companies, the beaches that fell under their remit soon became privatized, which means that you’ll need to know where you’re going before you plan your beach day. Because of the privatization of the beaches, management of the hotels or luxury apartments will ask you to leave if you’re not staying there – if there aren’t too many people on the beach, you’ll know you’re in the wrong place.

What to bring

Outside of Lima, Asia is the most modernized beach town in Peru. You can find every modern comfort easily and, most the time, within a short distance of where you’ll be staying. Even while on the beach you won’t have to worry about much, thanks to the many vendors in the area. The sun is always out and hot, so make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, as well as a big appetite to enjoy the fresh fish dishes on offer.
