11 Date Ideas to Try in Monaco
Imagine a unique, romantic and fun date night on the Mediterranean coast. Doesn’t sound too bad, does it? Read on for Culture Trip’s favourite date ideas that you can try out during your stay in the Monaco.
Eat a Michelin-starred meal
There is no shortage of Michelin-starred restaurants in Monaco as high-quality cuisine goes hand in hand with the luxury stores, hotels and general ambiance of the principality. This sense of grandeur makes for the ultimate date night experience. Le Vistamar has one of the best views, Elsa boasts a 100% organic certification, and Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse à l’Hôtel de Paris is pure magic. The choice is yours!
1. Enjoy a night at the opera
Casino, Opera House
No date will beat the elegance of the Monte Carlo Opera House. It’s usually fully booked, so make sure you plan ahead.

Take in the Mediterranean sunset
For a more casual date night, try to catch the sun as it sets over Monaco. There are several places that are great for a sunset viewing as the principality is perched on a cliff, and Larvotto Beach and Place du Palais are two favourites.
Dine up in the air
This is a truly incredible experience that is worth including even though only a few will be able to do it. It’s called Dinner in the Sky and the summer of 2017 saw its first ever dinner party. You can fill in a form to receive information about when the next one will be.
2. Have a spa day

3. See a show
Building
For a sophisticated date, head to Monaco’s Théâtre Princesse Grace. It’s one of the few theatres in Monaco and offers afternoon and evening performances. The building was named after Grace Kelly and occupies a great location overlooking the Mediterranean sea.

Book a helicopter ride
Unsurprisingly, one of the popular ways to travel to Monaco is by helicopter. For a particularly impressive date, why not fly direct from Nice airport to Monaco with Monacair? It will probably be one of the fastest (the journey time is just 7 minutes!) and most incredible dates you’ll have.
4. Try your luck
Casino
Whether you call it a date or call it competition time, a stay in Monaco just isn’t complete without a visit to its famous casino. Team it up with a drink at Café de Paris just across, making it a true Monaco evening out.
Monte-Carlo Casino, Place du Casino, Monaco, France, +37 798 062 121
Walk along the coast
The simplest dates are sometimes the best. Just to the west of Monaco lies Cap d’Ail and you can reach it by treading along the coast on the level pathway. From this viewpoint, the glistening Mediterranean will lay before you, framed by the lovely hills and picturesque villages.
5. Go bowling
Bowling Alley
For a slice of normal, old-fashioned fun, head to Monaco’s bowling alley for a date. If you’re visiting in the warmer months then it’ll also give you a welcome break from the Mediterranean sun.
Ni Box, 35 Boulevard Louis II, Monaco, +37 797 987 777
6. Visit the Grimaldi Forum
Building
Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum is a fantastic space. Stunning and excellently positioned right next to the sea, this building hosts some of the most sought-after events in Monaco’s social calendar and will make for a memorable date.
