First of all, because the menu features traditional Ukrainian dishes prepared according to home-made recipes. Secondly, it is the most charming venue in the city because of its unique interior and black-and-white photos on the walls. The staff is really prompt, so it is perfect for both a quick breakfast and a leisurely lunch. In the summer, you can eat on the cosy terrace that has comfortable wicker furniture.

2. Kava Vid Politsmeystera

When in Kamianets-Podilskyi, a visit to Kava Vid Politsmeystera is a total must. It is a café-museum, the rooms of which are decorated in an antique style with old photos and interesting household items. The venue serves more than 20 kinds of coffee. If you’re looking for some cheap but hearty food, Art Café Ratusha should be on your list. Here, you can find European and Caucasian cuisine, mostly meat-based dishes. For example, you’ll easily be sated by their shashlik (skewered and grilled meat), kebabs or steaks. The special feature of this spot is its location. Art Café Ratusha occupies the first floor of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Hall (Ratusha in Ukrainian) and thus benefits from the ambience of a medieval building. In the warmer seasons, the tables are put between the columns of the edifice, making the venue even more attractive to tourists.

5. Vytrebenky Vid Dykanky

You can try borscht with papmushki (fritters), deruny (potato pancakes) and over 30 varieties of sweet and savoury vareniki (filled dumplings).
