Popular bookshop Book Mongers on Coldharbour Lane needs to be your first stop for second hand books. Right on the fringes of Brixton Market, Book Mongers specialises in buying and selling books on all sorts of subjects: plays, poetry, travel, politics, cinema are only a few of them. For true bibliophiles, they also stock a range of first editions and rare books, too.

2. Herne Hill Books

A small village on the fringes of Brixton, Herne Hill is the home of Herne Hill Books. It offers a great selection of the latest novels, classic books, political biographies, travel guides and so much more. Compact but very friendly, Herne Hill Books has nice community feel to it and offers discounts and deals for neighbouring businesses. They also host local authors for talks and signings.
