Influenced by the temperate climate and laidback beach vibes, San Diego style is defined by comfort. Yet comfort can still be chic, and fashion bloggers in the area stand out for their casual, put together looks. Follow these five bloggers for year-round inspiration on mastering that breezy Southern California style.

Vanessa Valiente | Vstyle

Personal stylist Vanessa Valiente showcases her colorful look and provides fashion advice (ie: How to Wear Booties with Jeans) on her blog Vstyle. Her outfits feature bold and vibrant prints, and she often rocks statement earrings.

“If I had a uniform it would be a delicious dress, luxurious looking but insanely comfortable shoes, and a fantastic pair of earrings,” she says. “I feel powerless without earrings.”

In addition to earrings, Valiente always seems to have the perfect shoe for every outfit and her Insta is full of “shoefies.” With a background in costume design, Valiente styled for television shows, although personal styling remains her main focus. Her fashion advice has been featured in magazines like Cosmo Girl and Seventeen.

Jennifer Grech | Sprinkles on Sunday

Featuring a self-described “girly, Southern California-inspired style,” Jennifer Grech’s blog Sprinkles on Sunday is full of pastels, breezy fabrics, and the occasional ruffle. She also appears to have a penchant for pink that slips into both outfits and accessories. Her posts often focus on affordable finds, with an option to shop for her under $100 favorites. Visitors can also further filter her looks by “casual” or “date night.”

Tim Melideo | Stay Classic

While the name of his blog pays homage to Ron Burgundy’s famed send-off in Anchorman—“You stay classy, San Diego”—Tim Melideo’s style is thankfully nothing like the character’s 1970s polyester suits. Melideo puts an emphasis on affordability, while featuring a well-tailored look that’s often sprinkled with fun patterns.

“Prior to my style transformation I was a California skater and in a metal/punk band and my style reflected that,” he writes on his blog. “Once I moved to New York to get my MFA in 2009, my eyes opened wide and I felt inspired to better myself and what I wore was part of that.”

Tiffany Williams | Glitz & Glam by Tiff

A model with experience working in print and on the runway, Tiffany Williams started Glitz & Glam to offer a behind the scenes look at the world of fashion.

“I call my blog Glitz and Glam, because a lot of people think that models all have glamorous lives and don’t really know how hard it is, and what it actually takes,” Williams writes on her blog. “I want to show other women that you can be beautiful in your own way.”

Often, her fashion tips, like stylish ways to wear leggings, will be posted as short videos. Williams also blogs about health and beauty tips.

Paulina Mo | Lil Bits of Chic

Born and raised in San Diego, Paulina Mo gives fashion advice, while also integrating local travel tips into her posts on Little Bits of Chic. In one entry, she explains how to go wine tasting in Temecula—and also what to wear. Her degree is in Economics and she continues to work in that industry.

“I realized that I needed a space to fulfill my creative passions like fashion and beauty so I created this blog!”, she writes on her site.

Mo focuses on affordable looks, and has a knack for finding fresh floral prints. Her outfits have been featured in Latina Magazine, Redbook, and People StyleWatch.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
