In the thriving business culture of contemporary San Francisco, we know you work hard. If you’re feeling stressed after a long work week, take a break this weekend to visit one of our favorite spas around the city and treat yourself to some self-care services and a luxurious massage.

1. Spa Vitale

Spa

If you find yourself downtown near the Embarcadero, drop into Hotel Vitale to spend some time at the Spa Vitale. The spa is tucked away on an upper floor of the hotel, with a private bamboo outdoor patio. There, you will find deep soaking tubs and a group of highly trained massage therapists ready to pamper you into complete contentment. This spot may be smaller than many other spas around the city, but it offers you the chance to soak in an outdoor tub overlooking incredible views of the Bay Bridge. What more could you ask for?

2. Burke Williams

Market, Spa

The Burke Williams spa is located downtown inside the Westfield San Francisco Shopping Center, giving you the perfect place to relax after a busy day of shopping. This spa, which is famous for its wet room, stretches out over 16,500 square feet and is filled with Parisian décor to help you feel like you’re on a luxury vacation. The full Spa Experience includes a 25 minute Salt- or Sugar-Glo, a 50-minute Swedish massage, a 50-minute Spa Style Facial, and a pedicure.

3. Nob Hill Spa

Spa

The Nob Hill Spa is housed within the Huntington Hotel located in – you guessed it – the Nob Hill neighborhood. This spot is filled with unimaginable opulence, earning a consistent ranking among the top spas in the country. The spa boasts massages, a workout room, pedicures, an infinity pool, fluffy white robes, and a gorgeous view of the city. If you feel like treating yourself like the queen you are, come try the arctic berry body scrub.

4. SenSpa

Spa

A former military base that has been converted into a spa, SenSpa is located on the eastern edge of the Presidio district. Step inside to find yourself in a glorious oasis, complete with a tea garden, a fireplace, three relaxation rooms and a eucalyptus steam room. Enjoy treatments including Thai massages, Shiatsu massages, deep-tissue massages, mud baths, acupuncture treatments, naturopathic medicine, Buddha belly massages for pregnant women, lymphatic detox facials, and more. Couples packages are also available.

5. Bliss at the W

Spa

The W Hotel is home to the Bliss spa, part of a huge national brand of skin care products. The spa is located on the W’s fourth floor, spanning 5,000 square feet. The facilities include a retail boutique, three manicure stations with screens for watching movies, nine treatment rooms, gender-specific lounges, and outdoor relaxation areas. The spa offers deep tissue massages, a steam sauna, a menu of Bliss services, and a delectable brownie buffet, all of which you can enjoy to the accompaniment of the spa’s signature R&B music.
