Granted, its not technically a market dedicated to Christmas, but, since its in the heart of the city and surrounded by shops, you may want to stop for some snacks throughout your gift shopping. The market features the wares of over 200 creatives and gourmands and is situated within the magnificent Winthrop Hall at the University of Western Australia. All the products are made or designed in Western Australia, and founder Justine Barsley has fostered a collaborative community within the arts industry as well as raising money for Guide Dogs WA. Approximately 40 minutes north of Perth, Joondalup is WA’s second city. Its a Christmas extravaganza for three fun days at the Fremantle Arts Centre. The markets usually run in early December, and the dates are yet to be finalised and more details to come at the Fremantle Arts Centre Bazaar. Built in the 1860s, the Gothic building has a colourful past, kept well and truly alive. Its line-up of performances, exhibitions and courses run throughout the year, and if you happen to miss the markets, Fremantle Arts Centre is a treasure trove of locally made wares.
